Riley Keough is making a name for herself in Hollywood. The actress, 33, stars in Amazon Prime’s Daisy Jones & the Six and has roles in three Steven Soderbergh projects, including STARZ’s upcoming Lovesong.

But she is also tangled up in a family feud with her grandmother Priscilla Presley over control of Graceland. Priscilla has contested a 2016 amendment to her late daughter Lisa Marie’s will that cut her out of the property.

Daisy Jones & The Six

If you’re watching Daisy Jones & The Six, you’ve likely heard some of Fleetwood Mac’s iconic songs on the soundtrack. The Amazon Prime adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book follows a fictional 1970s rock band that catapults to fame before it falls apart. Taking inspiration from the history of Fleetwood Mac, Daisy Jones and The Six is, in many ways, a love letter to music and all the highs and lows that come with it.

The show stars Riley Keough as the band’s free-spirited lead singer, Daisy Jones. She is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla’s first great-grandchild. She recently spoke to PEOPLE about her starring role and the show.

While the series focuses on the band members, it also focuses on the effects that fame can have on everyone involved. As the Six rise to stardom, their relationships with one another are tested, and their individual interests often conflict. They’re forced to question what they’re fighting for and if the band is truly what they want.

Fortunately, the show has a talented cast to help keep viewers engaged. Tim Olyphant plays the band’s manager, Rod Reyes, who tries to give The Six the break they need to take off. He books them rooms at the Hyatt House, gets them paying gigs on the Sunset Strip and brings producer Teddy Price (Tom Wright) into their rehearsals.

As the band hits the road, they deal with issues that could derail their success. Daisy starts a relationship with drummer Graham Dunne, who is married to Karen Sirko. Despite being on tour, they’re both dealing with a family tragedy at home.

While there is a lot of drama, the show has been praised for its ability to showcase the band’s talents onstage. It’s also a fun trip back in time to the cultural revolution of rock ‘n’ roll.

The show is a must-watch for anyone who’s ever loved or hated Fleetwood Mac or any other musical group that rose to prominence in the ’70s. While it’s not a true story, it’s a fascinating look at the music industry and the human drama that comes with it.

Runways

The daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley is making her mark on Hollywood. Riley Keough, 33, has starred in movies such as American Honey and Logan Lucky. She recently landed the lead role in Daisy Jones & The Six, a new Amazon Prime Video series. The story follows a pair of former strippers who are tangled in a web of deceit, manipulation, and violence in Tampa. The actress worked with Vagina Monologues writer Eve Ensler to prepare for the role of Capable, one of five sex slaves.

The actress has also appeared on a few television shows, including American Horror Story: Hotel California and Girlfriend Experience. She also starred as Marie Currie, the sister of 1970s rock band Runaways, in the biopic. In addition, she replaced Olivia Thirlby as Jack in the Netflix werewolf romance based on the novel of the same name.

Her acting career has blossomed over the past few years, and she’s slated to appear in George Miller’s reboot of the Mad Max franchise. The film takes place shortly after the events of 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and Keough will play a female warrior in the new movie. She’ll join an ensemble cast that includes Tom Hardy, Zoe Kravitz, and Charlize Theron.

Keough, who is repped by WME, is known for her striking beauty and sexy looks. She has a petite figure and long, slender legs that look great in high-waisted skirts and dresses. She’s a natural on camera and has a magnetic presence that draws people to her.

While she never met her grandfather, Elvis, she grew up around him and has spoken highly of him. Her father, Danny Keough, was her stepfather, and she has a half-sister with her mother’s fourth husband, Michael Lockwood. Her brother, Benjamin, died of suicide in 2020. In 2016, Lisa Marie adjusted her trust to cut her mother and make Riley and her husband Ben sole trustees.

The actress has also done a bit of modeling, but she seems most comfortable behind the camera. She has a strong presence on social media and often posts pictures of herself in glamorous attire. In her downtime, she enjoys a good bottle of wine or a relaxing bath with her dogs.

The Good Doctor

Orlando Bloom, who has earned his paychecks playing Legolas in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, does a bang-up job as Dr. Martin Blake in The Good Doctor, a medical drama with an intriguing premise. The problem is, that’s about all the movie has going for it.

The Good Doctor follows a brilliant young intern (Orlando Bloom) with autism and savant syndrome who is hired to join the surgical staff at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. The doc’s autism makes him prone to self-destructive behavior, and the hospital is wary of his erratic and unorthodox methods. The show’s premise is that his autism gives him the ability to see and hear things others cannot, but that also creates a dangerous disconnect between his emotions and reality.

It’s a fascinating idea, but the show’s script and Bloom’s performance fail to fully immerse us in the character. The movie never really allows us to understand why he behaves as he does, and that lack of empathy may be its biggest flaw.

One example of the disconnect comes when an 18-year-old patient with pyelonephritis, an infection of the kidneys, visits Blake’s ER room. He begins to develop a romantic interest in her and treats her with a level of presumptuousness that is uncalled for. He goes so far as to use her restroom in his house, switch her meds and even pretend to treat her sexually, which is completely unprofessional.

While some of the show’s characters are well-rounded and interesting, others have too little screen time or seem underdeveloped. For instance, there’s Nurse Theresa (Taraji P. Henson), who resents the doctor’s arrogance and aloofness; and Dr. Waylans (Rob Morrow), who is suspicious of the doc’s odd behavior. The Good Doctor is a worthwhile drama, but it needs to flesh out its supporting players and expand the scope of its story a bit more if it wants to be successful. As far as kids are concerned, this movie will only make them fear trips to the doctor more than they already do.

Jack & Diane

When John Mellencamp’s 1982 song “Jack and Diane” was released, it immediately became a rock classic. The tune captures a sense of youth and youthful romance, a kind of nostalgia that has become an iconic symbol for a generation. But the song has more than just a catchy melody and catchy lyrics. It has also come to represent a certain sense of authenticity, a belief that individual lives matter and that the world is full of hope.

Mellencamp is credited as the sole writer of the song, but he got some help from Mick Ronson, a former Spider From Mars and one of the biggest glam-rock musicians of all time. Ronson played guitar on the track, and he is credited with helping to shape its sound. He helped to create the jangly acoustic guitar and crunchy waves of distortion that give it its distinctive rhythm, as well as providing the hand claps that appear in the chorus and bridge sections of the song.

In addition to the soundtrack’s enduring popularity, the movie based on it has become a cultural touchstone for many people. The story is told from the perspective of Diane, a naive young Australian who visits New York City for a summer with her aunt Linda (Cara Seymour). She meets Jack (Juno Temple), an androgynous American, in a club and feels a mutual attraction immediately. The two begin a relationship, despite Linda’s protestations that she will be sending Diane off to fashion school in Paris in a few weeks.

The film’s star and director, Baz Luhrmann, was inspired by the idea that the film could be seen as a kind of “Americana.” In an interview with Variety, he explains that Jack and Diane can be about any of millions of kids in America because it is authentic to their culture, identity, and ethos. “They think that the sun rises and sets with them, and that the world is here for them,” he says. “And it actually is.” He adds that the movie’s title reflects both the spirit of the characters and its music.
